- Your logical "CEO" weakens (Prefrontal Cortex): This area of the brain governs focus, decision-making, and emotional regulation. Chronic stress can reduce its effectiveness, making it more difficult to think clearly and solve problems calmly.
In other words, chronic stress doesn't simply make you feel overwhelmed—it can train your brain to stay on high alert.
