Advisor Spotlight - Jason Phipps

DLAK Advisors is proud to spotlight one of the firm’s partners, Jason Phipps.
Jason earned his bachelor’s degree from Wilmington College and later completed his Graduate Banking degree in 2019 through the Stonier program at the University of Pennsylvania. He began his career at Fidelity Investments in 2000. After Fidelity, Jason spent several years as a Financial Advisor at National Bank & Trust in Wilmington, Ohio, where he was tapped in 2011 to lead the bank’s Wealth Management Division and serve on the executive team.
When National Bank & Trust was acquired by Peoples Bank in 2015, Jason was one of only two executive team members asked to remain with the new organization. At Peoples Bank, he held senior leadership roles in the Trust and Investments division and was eventually promoted to Market President for Southwest Ohio, once again serving on the bank’s Executive Management Team.
In 2020, Jason joined a large advisory firm in Blue Ash, Ohio, where he was responsible for business development and served on the firm’s Executive Management Team.
Throughout his career, Jason was searching for a firm that matched his view of what an advisory firm should be—and one where he could have ownership. Jason and Rob first met on Christmas Eve in 2021. After extensive due diligence on each other and on DLAK, Jason joined the firm in August of 2022 and now serves as a Managing Partner.
When asked about his decision to join DLAK, Jason shared:
“I was looking for a firm that truly puts the client first. Everyone says it, but it’s rare. You have to have the right processes in place to ensure that every aspect of a client’s financial life is positively impacted by their relationship with the advisory firm that serves them. It was also important that the investment philosophy I developed over my career aligned with the firm I joined. DLAK and Rob checked all those boxes. Our investment philosophy is aligned, our planning process delivers real value, and we work tirelessly for our clients every day. For me, DLAK was exactly what I was searching for.”
While Jason has earned many professional accolades, his proudest accomplishment is his family. He and his wife, Carrie, were high school sweethearts and have been married for 22 years. They have five children: Maddie, Nolan, Baron, Sawyer, and Nash.
As Jason puts it:
“I’ve been blessed in many ways throughout my life, but without a doubt, my wife and kids are what I’m most thankful for. They say the most important decision you make in life is who you marry, and I certainly hit the jackpot. I’m incredibly proud of all of my kids, and my wife is a huge part of who they’ve become. So yes—I’m very fortunate.”
